I’ve started playing with MovableType, to replace my dependency on Blogger. Or to slavishly imitate Doyce. One or the other reason, I’m sure.
I’ll let you know when it actually happens, of course. I suspect it will not happen as quickly as the D-Man’s abrupt “Hey Presto!” change. Nor, hopefully, as slow as some of the “I’ve been trying to make it work for weeks now, and it won’t, so obviously it’s a stupid program” people one reads now and again. I’ve downloaded (and uploaded) the software and begun playing with stuff (i.e., run into error messages it’s too late at night to diagnose).
Ideally, though, when all’s said and done, I won’t be subject to the whims of www.blogger.com, but only to my web host (and my ISP, and my own creaky intellect).
