There is something particularly heartwarming about Katherine’s smile. When she smiles, she smiles whole-heartedly, unreservedly and with complete focus conveying her enjoyment, her glee, her happiness over whatever it is. (“Katherine — want a strawberry?”)
That she can do that to me, when I am more-than-occasionally Cranky Dad (“Katherine, no! Katherine, put that down! Katherine, get away from there! Katherine, look what you’ve done!”) makes me feel good, too.
My nephew (the Barbarian) has a laugh I wish I could bottle up and sell. It’s contagious, and totally uninhibited, and beautiful.
Oh, yeah. Laughs and squeals and gurgles of delight.
