If you’re going to create a group called “The South Florida Human Rights Council,” then it’s probably bad form to eject three gay rights activists from your inaugural meeting because “”We’re not focusing on gays. I don’t want our time to get all boiled up in side issues.”
Just a thought.
The purpose of the group is actually to fight discrimination against Blacks and Hispanics. Worthy goals, certainly. Perhaps just a bit narrower than the organizational name implies.
