The highly-publicized alleged meeting between 9-11 hijacker Mohamed Atta and Iraqi intelligence in Prague probably never actually took place. Czech and US intelligence agencies have been looking at the connection, and find there’s little except one uncorroborated connection that was made — and plenty of indication that there was no such meeting.
Given that this story has been touted as a major reason why we should bomb the crap out of Saddam Hussein, it’s a shame its debunking hasn’t gotten more publicity. Not that there aren’t plenty of other reasons to do so, but we only weaken that cause by invoking excuses we know not to be true.
