In-between ranting about U.S. Bank (U.S. Bank Sucks!), I’ve been making some small changes here at ***Dave Does the Blog.

  • Red/yellow/green lights on the media list. I think as things fall off the “last three” list, I’ll be moving them onto the Archives page.
  • Oh, yeah, the Archives page. I’ve moved the detailed search stuff there, too. Link is off in the side-bar.

  • I’ve added MT-Search to supplement PicoSearch (on the Archives page). MT-Search (which is currently a third-party add-on, but evidently has been taken on by the Trotts for future inclusion and better integration into MT) has the advantage of being a dynamic search against the MT database, and so is automatically updated. And there’s no limit on pages it can search. It also allows the database owner to edit entries from the search results. Plus it uses similar syntax, and can be tied into the same style and all.

However, it doesn’t highlight the found text, doesn’t show the underlying file, doesn’t show the date, etc. And, of course, it’s only good on the MT database (not on my old Blogger pages).

I expect that the next version of MT-Search will resolve things to make it the search engine of choice. Hopefully that will happen before I exceed PicoSearch’s 1500-page limit.

  • I’ve been shuffling around some of the sidebar content, including putting the weather link toward the top. More reasons for that soon …

The fun never ends here at ***Dave Does the Blog.
