The article didn’t say anything about age. I’d imagine that would be a significant factor in the study. I’d like to see the same study done with, say, a group of 40 to 45 years old people.
It’s of course often easier for university psych profs to use their captive audience as study subjects. I imagine there might be a lot of similar studies that might show different results in a different age cohort.
From an interview of All Things Considered (where all my best information comes from) – the subjects were students at a University, which doesn’t guaranty that they are all under 25, but it certainly shifts the demographics younger.
