Some promising news in the world of wind power.
The annoying thing about the energy debate is that it seems to be so polarized. On the one hand are the heavily-moneyed oil/gas/coal interests, who are obviously highly incented to keep America dependent on same, even if it means tearing up ANWR or any other wilderness in its way. On the other hand are the folks who think we can simply flip a switch (so to speak) and turn into a Totally Renewable and Pollution-Free Energy-Consuming Company (Eating Plenty of Granola at the Same Time, No Doubt).
The reality is that it is in our national interest to develop alternatives to fossil fuels. That’s basic economics, science, and geopolitics. But there seem to be few easy avenues toward doing this, and it’s going to be a long-term process. Which makes getting started sooner, rather than later, all the more important.
