Which is probably why I titled this the Monday Mission.

1. What is your favorite snack food? Does anyone you know have weird tastes in snacks?

Eat-out-of-the-box/bag-munching kind of snack food? Probably Tostitos (or any other particularly thin, salty tortilla chip). Goldfish come in a moderately-close second.

There are lots of people who like Sour Cream & Onion Potato Chips. I consider that “weird.”

2. Ever caught yourself saying “well it can’t get any worse” and it does? What’s the story there?

The Irony Gods sometimes get bored and decide to play with me, as a cat does a mouse. It rarely hurts for too long.

3. I have a super-short attention span, and it always was my downfall in school, especially math class. What’s your attention span like and how has it served you?

In some ways, it’s very good. When I zero in on something, and am actively engaged with it, I am like a laser beam. On the other hand, if my attention wanders, it wanders badly.

4. Do you believe in the existence of extra-terrestrials?

I think it rather likely that life has evolved elsewhere. I even think it possible that we’ve been visited. Unfortunately, those are more or less gut feelings, and not anything scientific, let alone being able to guess what the frell they’re doing when they visit, or why they haven’t been more open about it.

5. What do you think of the whole “crop circles” phenomenon?

I think it’s 60% hype and 80% hoax, give or take 50% each. Insufficient data for a more meaningful analysis.

6. Ever had a time where you begin visiting with someone you don’t know all that well and just find you “click” like long lost pals? Tell me about how that came to happen, and who was it? What kind of things do you have in common?

Yes. It’s happened more than once in the context of gaming (since that’s an uncomfortably large percentage of my “visiting” and “socializing”).

7. When I was at the cemetery a few weeks ago, I began to recall my Dad’s funeral so many years ago. It is so vivid, sitting there in the family room as his friends passed by and paid their respects, the music, his face, the tears. What funeral do you remember most vividly?

I’ve only been to a few in my life, and I don’t remember those very vividly. I don’t know if that’s a protective distancing, an attention span thang, or what. It is a bit disturbing, though.

BONUS: How can I forget you, girl?

You’re everything to me. The sun, the moon, the stars — my entire being focuses in on … oh, hey, Farscape‘s on …
