Micro$oft has, with great fanfare, been talking about how it’s already complying with huge swaths of the Federal anti-trust settlement, no doubt to show to the judge who’s deciding if that’s the settlement that will stand what good corporate eggs they are. See? We’re cooperating even before we have to! Aren’t we swell? Doesn’t it make you want to give us a hug (and drop all those draconian additional penalties the Nine Dissenting States want)?
Unfortunately, the centerpiece of this ostensible cooperation, the release of Windows APIs, is, ah … less than impressive. Either M$ is playing lots of games still, or it really doesn’t know what’s going on in the bowels of its code. Or, most likely, both.
Grr.
