Watched last week’s Firefly at long last (thanks for the tape, Doyce). Hy-larious, not to mention well done. Too many good lines to count. Yeah, sort of a fluff piece, but, still, we keep getting little details fleshed out about the crew of the good ship Serenity.
(Parenthetically, one cool thing is that we’re beginning to get a feel for where things are on the ship. This is one of the few space series where the ship is small enough for us to get a feel for the spacial relationships between different decks, quarters, the bridge, the cargo bay, etc. And that should only increase over time, which is neat.)
(Also, parenthetically, isn’t it nice that a same-sex seduction scene can be a part of a plotline without being the plotline, and without being “a shocking, very special episode of Firefly”? I think so. I mean, not so long ago, you couldn’t even consider it as part of a plot. Never would have entered anyone’s mind.)
So … after rushing to get done with the tape before the following Friday rolls around … what’s up with Fox preempting the show after only three episodes? (And from what I hear, it’s been worse back east.)

So why is it that shows I like always get plopped in the same time slots as so many sporting events?
