This is shaping up to be another of those “churchy” weekends.

Tonight our church is having a fund-raising auction — people donate goods and services, and it all gets auctioned off to folks. There’s some pretty scary “loving hands at home” sort of stuff, but there’s also some cool vacation get-aways, someone’s offering to draw up wills for a husband and wife, there are some cool sports paraphernalia that have been donated (autoagraphed jerseys, etc.). We contributed some wine, but the big ticket item that we’ve heard many rumblings about high bids for is a week’s worth of meals pre-cooked by Margie. Yum.

Tomorrow evening is the first of our “Hungry Flock” dinner thangs of the season. Bunch of folks sign up, and each month (October-May) four or five of them host a divvied up set of the rest at their house for dinner. Definitely more of a social thing than a religious thing, but still a lot of fun. One meets the most interesting people …

Sunday, of course, is church.

As to the rest of the weekend, not sure. Randy was making noise about playtesting an Amber game for an upcoming con. Nothing else on the calendar so far, though, which either means a productive weekend of raking leaves, laying down mulch, and finishing the fence (except for the gates), or else a lot of Last Second Things coming up.

I fear it will more likely be the latter.
