If Israeli troops dragged a suspected Palestinian collaborator into the street and gunned her down, I’d expected blistering headlines in the NY Times, protest marches in London, temple-burnings in Paris, and Seriously Scolding UN Resolutions.
But since it was only a Palestinian woman killed by Palestinian gunmen, I guess it only warrents a brief mention in the Australian press.

Well, one would be state-sponsored terrorism by the armed forces of an military occupying power; the other is ‘mere’ murder carried out by vigilante groups. Certainly, summarily killing suspected ‘collaborators’ has no justification in either case, but having it committed as part of a policy of pacification by an occupying army is more egregious than if it were done by a few gunmen acting on their own. End The Occupation.
It’s not clear to me that the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is particularly interested just in the “occupation” being ended, nor that its end would mean that either Palestinians on the West Bank, or Israelis within that country’s recognized borders, would be safe from these “few gunmen acting on their own” — assuming that’s a valid way of describing them.
