It’s the Thursday Threesome, Halloween Style.
Onesome: Goblins. Do you do Halloween? …or is it all too much?
We do get kids coming around, and with Kitten of an age, we’re definitely more into the Halloween Thang. Indeed, this is one of the first “days” she’s actually made a connection to (“Halloween” = “Tiger Costume”).
We put out some decorations last night, which she enjoyed. Didn’t get a pumpkin carved — we’ll do that next year, I suspect.
Twosome: Ghouls (and guys). What ghoulish dishes do you serve up at Halloween?
To the Trick-or-Treaters, usually Mounds and Reese’s Cups (i.e., things we’ll enjoy as leftovers).
For ourselves — nothing special. Margie had been going to make some more posole for tonight, but I forgot to set the hominy to soaking overnight, dagnabbit.
Threesome: Bats. Where are you flying to this evening? Any plans?
It’s supposed to be in the 20s tonight, and possibly snowing, so we may limit the Hallowandering a bit. We’ll hit up the neighbors, and then probably cruise over to the Testerfolks to show off the Tiger Kitten.
My job takes me to peoples’ doorsteps, and I have not seen a single real Jack-o-Lantern this year! Nothing but plastic electric pumpkins! it’s disappointing.
Hmmm.
The plastic ones have gotten pretty good, actually.
Nonetheless, all the stores, etc., still have huge pumpkin displays in front of them.
I hope carving jack-o-lanterns has not gone the way of carving turnips.
