You know that there’s been a sea change in the national consciousness when, even under a business-friendly GOP administration, the FTC declares new telemarketing regulations.
These are to include a national do-not-call registry, require transmission of Caller ID info, and “limit the number of ‘abandoned’ calls that hang up or leave people listening to silence on the line.”
The Direct Marketing Association, of course, claims this is all unlawful and to challenge every last inch of it in court. Bastards.
