So over the weekend, we were in California for a great big rainstorm. Three inches at the Ks, and a bit more on that up in Santa Barbara, where my folks were.
Once that was over, of course, we decided we enjoyed it so much, we’d hop on a plane, fly ahead of the storm, and get here in time for the sequel to hit Colorado.
…A Winter Storm Warning Has Been Issued For Late Tonight Through Wednesday…
Showers today will switch to snow tonight… and snow will become heavy late tonight. Periods of heavy snow are expected on Tuesday through Wednesday. Storm total accumulations of 1 to 3 feet are possible with the heaviest amounts near the foothills by Thursday morning. North winds gusting to 30 mph will produce areas of blowing and drifting snow.
Hmmmm. Might be working from home for the next few days.

A storm as big as the blizzard of October 1997 could pound the Front Range this week, with rain turning to snow as early as this evening, National Weather Service meteorologists said Sunday.
The strong, slow-moving storm is expected to linger over northeastern Colorado and the eastern slopes of the Front Range for a couple of days, the weather service reported.
“This storm will likely be as bad as the October 1997 blizzard, and it could turn out to be one of the heaviest snowfalls in Denver history,” the weather service said on its Web site Sunday night.
When the 10/97 blizzard hit, my in-laws had just arrived, and we spent the next three days snowed in, watching the weather news. Stranded folks were evacuated from I-25 to Park Meadows Mall, and many others were trapped at the (then-new) airport.
Just keep saying, “We can certainly use the moisture. We can certainly use the moisture …”
