Cool. We’re under a blizzard warning. Another 3-6″ this evening, anodhter 5-10″ overnight, another 3-6″ tomorrow. Yeesh.
United, Frontier and American have cancelled all their flights today (though some planes have landed, and are unable to leave). At least half of United’s flights tomorrow have been cancelled.
Hmmmmm. Might light a fire tonight.
UPDATE1: There are no flights scheduled at DIA tomorrow. Most of the reason the place is crowded is because UAL miscalculated the strength of the storm, had folks hub in, then couldn’t hub them out.
Lit a fire.
UPDATE2: Yup. Blizzard Warning.
…A Blizzard Warning Has Been Issued For Tonight And Wednesday…
Snow will continue tonight through Wednesday with periods of heavy snow across the Front Range urban corridor. Total snow accumulations by late Wednesday afternoon will range from 18 to 36 inches with locally up to 4 feet near the foothills and in Douglas County. Strong north winds of 25 to 35 mph will produce widespread areas of blowing and drifting snow with very poor visibilities at times. Travel conditions will be nearly impossible in some areas.
I like the weather pixie’s depiction of a blizzard. It’s Dave fading into the background.
I suppose it’s too much to have it showing drifts …
But it only snows behind Dave! Coincidence?
You’ll be happy to know we have a Severe Weather Alert here for tonight: winds 20-30 mph! Oh, no! I may have to close my windows tonight! Drat!
Here’s what the blizzard looks like in Fort Collins:
