Listened to the CENTCOM press conference this afternoon. You know, you could just close your eyes and tell what the editorial position of the questioner’s employers were.
Is the US military bogged down? Were you grossly overconfident? Has American military morale been crippled by videos of US casualties? Is the fact that the war isn’t over a sign that this is another Viet Nam? Is the fact that the war has been going so quickly a sign that the US is a bully? Will attacks by un-uniformed resistance fighters lead to a need for increased civilian casualties?
Or, conversely,
Are the Iraqi scum? Are the Iraqis war criminals? Are the Iraqis killing and mistreating American prisoners?
The latter are not quite as egregious, I suppose, but still annoying.
