Driving home from vestry last night and I realized I needed a fill-up. So I …
… with a start, I realized that, at least at the moment, my convenient gas-buying opportunities had dwindled, over the last few months, from three to just one.
The Conoco over by Le Peep? Closed down, tanks yanked, storefront empty, since January. It was a crappy location for most motorists, but it was where I used to go in the morning on my way in to work. Well, at least until they started not opening until 8.
The Diamond Shamrock across the street? Munched by snow. They pried the collapsed shelter roof off, but it’s still dark.
That leaves the Amoco BP down County Line, which is an inconvenient series of left turns and signals no matter how you are trying to get to or from it. But it’s either that, or travel some miles out of the way.
*Sigh* Almost makes me long for the Bad Old Days of a service station on every corner.
