I’m always pro forma on the lookout for folks who’ve linked to me. It’s all about the ego and validation and stuff like that, right? Well, whatever reason, it’s something I keep an eye open for.

Still, sometimes, when it happens, it feels less like a “Hey, look, somebody linked to me, isn’t that neat?” and more like “Whoa.” So it is with Real Live Preacher, a fine blog by an anonymous Texas small church pastor. It’s worth reading, and that he’s decided I am, too, is an honor and, frankly, a bit of a responsibility — a man of the cloth is reading my blog! Eep!

Okay, it’s not that bad. Adn I don’t think it’s just knee-jerk respect for the clergy, though I do carry some of that with me, and I’m not sure that’s necessarily a bad thing, at least as an initial reaction. It’s that here’s a guy whose writing consider to be thoughtful, considered, and someone with whom I’d love to break bread (or hoist a beer), and evidently he thinks enough of DDTB to publically link to it himself.

That’s kind of neat, in a non-aggrandizing way.

Anyway, the least I can do in return is point y’all toward him, too, as I have in the past, either through that link or through the button in my “Gotta” blogroll. Take up and read.
