The dining room project is much bigger, but going much faster, than expected. Cabinetry, power outlets, down lights, drywall, ultimately tile surfacing that will match ultimate tile floor … amazing.
We “lost” an hour this morning by forgetting that the clocks needed to be set back. Fortunately, since we’ve been going to bed around 8:30, it wasn’t that big a deal.

I’m curiouys on the look of the project. I hope you have taken before, during, and after pictures of the construction project and that you can find it in your heart to post them.
I have, and I will. Though the “after” is still a work in progress, s0 to speak.
Outlets. Don’t forget outlets. There isn’t a day that goes by when I’m cleaning, or when I set up another fish tank, or another project when I realize how few electrical outlets the guy who built our house put in!
No worries, Fred. The buffet countertop has an outlet left, center and right. And we put one in on the living room side of the wall, too. Enough outlets to blow the fuse, probably, if we used them all.
The last bits of the Jim part of the project went fabulously, btw. He (with Margie’s help) finished up the drywall, put the metal edging on, put the trim on either side and along the top, and put the plywood shelf on.
The ladies then populated all the shelves with the stuff that was scattered around the living room, rendering that room neat and clean, thank heavens.
Last bits to do: backerboad on the counter and the splash, tile on the counter and the splash, get a drywall guy Margie knows to come in and tape/mud the drywall, and texture it, then paint. Voila, done in plenty of time for our Twelfth Night party.
That’s the theory, at least.
