There is something very Gaimanesque in discovering that the principal animator of Chernobog in Fantasia, Vladimir Tytla, was the same guy who designed the Post Sugar Bear (later Honey Bear) character for Post Sugar Crisps (later Honey Crisps, after all references to “sugar” in children’s cereal were removed by manufacturers). One can almost see the old Slavic god retiring, going commercial (still taking on a Russian “bear” guise), and selling tooth-decaying breakfast snacks while trading in the fiercesome mien for a Crosby-like croon.
Spooky.
“Can’t get enough of those Super Sugar Crisps!”
