Stupid mundane details nobody wants to read, but which I feel compelled to chronicle …
And great success in our quest to finish off leftovers.
Friday
- Halloween. Bitterly cold and damp. Katherine is a cute little black-and-white kitty, and, despite being sick, insists on doing half of the entire Circle and the cul-de-sac behind us as well.
- Dave & Lori and Doyce & Jackie come over.
- We eat leftover turkey and potatoes and stuffing. The rest of the former will be turned into soup over the course of the weekend.
- We stay up until 2a playing Apples to Apples, Scattergories, and Beyond Balderdash. The irony is that if we’d played one of the RPG one-shots Doyce brought over, we’d have gotten to bed earlier …
Saturday
- Kitten decides to get up at 5a, still on Daylight Savings Time. I get her back to bed (the alternative is going downstairs with her to watch TV). She comes back in around 6:30a, and after about an hour of snuggling and gyrating in bed, she decides that she wants to go downstairs. I go downstairs with her and snooze on the couch for another hour or so. Margie sleeps in until about 10:30a, thank heavens.
- Nobilis, over here, in the afternoon. Sian gets in socio-political trouble, and is forced to go on a quest without, ahem, her stick.
- Since Jackie isn’t around (by then), we’re able to eat leftover chicken cacciatore for dinner.
- We get to bed around 10:30p.
Sunday
- Kitten has some GI discomfort that has her wailing for comfort at 11:30p. And at 1:30a. And at 4:30a. And at 5:30a. She then gets up at a quarter of 8, in time for us to groggily go to church. Margie does yeoman’s duty through all this.
- No OA, since Justin’s football game is rescheduled. This leads to an oddly unbusy Sunday afternoon which, nonetheless, seems to slip by quickly.
- I get my Nobilis logs done.
- We polish off still more (yummy) leftovers for dinner.
- Margie goes to bed early, not surprisingly.
- I decide to write my weekend update early.
