Best Dexter’s Laboratory ep of all time: “Star Check – Unconventional.” Dexter and his two buds go to a “Star Check” convention — but inadvertently go to the Barbie convention in the next hall over.

Someone who’s watched way too many ST:TOS episodes wrote this one with loving care. Hilarious.

“NRFB … NRFB … NRFB …”

If it ever comes out on DVD, I am so there.

  1. Hangons, mom! The evil Hangon Empire!”

    Bwah-hah-hah!

I taped all the Dexter eps from the first two seasons when they first showed (missed three shows; had to pick ’em up in reruns). Stay away from the new ones, though. Poorly written, mediocre voice acting, uninspired and repetitive animation.

Two other favorites from the original run:

Mock 5 (a Speed Racer parody)
Dyno-Might (guest starring the Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt!)

There was a Johnny Bravo episode in which he teams up with Scooby-Doo and the gang (most hilarious), and another featuring a space alien based on Jack Benny!

  2. Ah, yes. “I dig holes.” Heh.

Did anybody happen to catch the Duck Dodgers cartoon a week ago, where a mix-up at the dry cleaner’s resulted in Dodgers getting Hal Jordan’s costume and ring? Every pre-Kyle Green Lantern appeared in that show! (Looked great too, except for Tomar Re, whose beak could’ve gotten him a starring role in a Cocoa Puffs commercial!)

Ooh, and the Justice League episode, “A Better World”! Remember Hawkeye’s comment about the JLA in JLA/Avengers #1? They certainly took a page from the Squadron’s book in this story! Probably the best ep yet!

  3. Well, they are now playing new 2-part episodes every Saturday night at 10:00 PM. That means no worries about missing part 2! Three cheers!

Last Saturday was “Eclipsed.” Guess who the villain was! There was a sub-plot with Glorious Godfrey, which seemed superfluous, but was nicely meshed anyhow.
