Man, all this stuff with the Spirit rover gives me that stomach-knot-tying feeling akin to a major server outage — attempts that fail, brief possibilities of success, different strategies tried, all under the watchful eye of management and the end-users.

I don’t know how those folk at JPL are bearing up under it, but I wish them the best of luck.

  1. About 30 minutes of communcations was successful this morning, I believe 10 minutes of stored data + 20 minutes of back and forth.
