So Margie’s decided (and mega-kudos her direction for it) that going and doing some regular workout stuff makes a lot of sense for her.

There’s one time slot that would be ideal for the purpose. Katherine is in pre-school on Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:30 – 3:30. That’s not enough time for Margie to pop over to her office to work, so why not work out then?

Well … because it appears nobody else does.

She checked out the local Curves outlets, which come recommended. They close from 1-3.

She checked out exercise programs at the local rec center. Ditto. Nothing in that time slot.

The assumption seems to be that folks will work out in the morning, over their lunch hours, or once they get off work, but exercising in the early afternoon — well, that’s for Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I guess.

She’s still looking around, and there are other possibilities, but that’s a time slot that would work best for her. Apparently, though, for nobody else.

  1. What about the Y? I was a member for a couple of years, and found it a great resource. Mine had a weight room and a pool, as well as numerous workout classes, and a great locker room and shower area. Plus all of their days camps and events. I’m not a memeber any more, but that has more to do with my work schedule than the Y.
The schedule for your Curves is wierd – the one in the Ralph’s shopping center near me is open 8-8 during the week!? And walking is free! Go Margie!!

  2. My Curves is open from 7-7 but closed from 1-3. I just started there this week, but I am loving it.
30 mins just flies by. My mom has been going and has lost 15 lbs in a little over 3 weeks.

Good luck finding something that fits your schedule Margie!

  3. There’s a 24-hour fitness at the corner of Broadway and Dad Clark over by our house (actually closer to you guys than the closest Curves). As the name implies, they’re always open, and I believe that, even if the 1-3 slot doesn’t offer classes (and I have no idea if that’s actually the case), one may retain the services of a trainer at approximately the same rate — perhaps a bit more for the specialized TLC, but that’s to be expected.
