Kerrying the message on defense policy

An interesting analysis of an interesting John Kerry speech on defense and foreign policy. Worth reading.

There are aspects of it that certainly sound pretty good. And aspects that sound contradictory, or that are broad and sweeping statements without any clue as to how they’d be implemented. Which, to be sure, is not all that unique for political speeches, but what is remarkable is how much like Bush policy this sounds (even as it criticizes Bush policy for being inadequate).
