Like Walt Whitman we sing the song of ourselves. Each of us imagines and tells his own story. Some of us try very hard to stick to the facts, and some of us find it difficult to separate what we wish was true from what actually happened. Memory is a giggling sprite and will not be tamed. She takes flight the moment the present becomes the past.
Stories
A biographical note. Like Walt Whitman we sing the song of ourselves. Each of us imagines and tells his own story. Some of us try very hard to stick to…
the Real Live Preacher…great as always.
Too bad we couldn’t clone him so we could all have one.
Amen.
RLP and marn are two of the people on your blogroll that I would love to be at a dinner party with. Just to talk to and such.
Absolutely. Actually, that’s probably true (for me) for quite a few of the folks in my blogroll, particularly in the Gotta category.
Yeah…
The Folks at Boing-Boing look like they would be good times. As does Les for geeky good times.
GoaF could be fun…Lots of Kylie goodness.
Scott would be almost like a kindred spirit.
I could really do without the giant forehead and instahack.
I’d need superior fire power for ipse.
I think I’d have a lot in common to chat with both Les and Scott. And, for that matter, with Lileks (we could compare kid and kitsch stories, if nothing else). Packwood seems like an intersting fellow. I’m not sure what I’d chitchat about with Dodd or Reynolds besides politics (which is not something I chitchat about much), and I fear I’d be way too unhip and ungeeky for the BoingBoing crowd. RLP and Marn would be a blast (singly or together).
And then there’s that Doyce fellow. Don’t know if we’d get along …
Well duh…
I didn’t include you or Doyce or for that matter the SO’s (J,J,M, and K) for a reason.;->
With Marn we would just have to make sure that there’d be enough Pecan pie around.
Maybe she needs some Colorado rock for her wall project…
I would be more than happy to bake all the pecan pies necessary to entice Marn out. Hell, I’d do it as a challenge to her ludicrous hypothesis that one can actually eat too much pecan pie …
