D&D Widower Double Feature
On last night’s media parade: The Prophecy Silent Running I’m not sure which is the goofier film, but both Walken and Dern play damn fine crazy folk….
I think “The Prophecy” may be overall “goofier,” but it depends on your Goofy scale. [snort] (Um, Toon Disney was on my TV all night courtesy of one of my sisters staying over. It apparently protects against zombie nightmares.)
I’m not sure the premise of angels fighting the never-ending war here on Earth is any goofier than the idea that (a) all foliage on Earth has been wiped out except for (b) some teeny-tiny but sustaintable patches kept in (c) expensive space cargo ships that (d) are maintained in Saturn’s orbit. I’m sure it all made sense back in 1971, but, then, a lot of stuff did back then.
On the other hand, Silent Running had the cooler sound track — PDQ Bach and Joan Baez. W00t!
