Well, I thought I was okay watering yesterday. Hand watering in a flower bed, right? Well, no, not really. According to this:
Trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables Watering is allowed on designated days and hours by hand-held hose or low-volume spray irrigation. The first day a tree is planted, “watering in” is allowed on any day but Monday, but no watering is allowed any day between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Which means I blew it both by day (Tuesday, not Wednesday) and hour (before 6 p.m.). Hrm. Hope the Water Police didn’t see me.
But wait — according to the actual Denver Water page …
Trees and shrubs may be watered by a hand-held hose or low-volume non-spray irrigation* on assigned watering days but not between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. New plantings may be “watered in” on a single day but not Monday.
Flowers and vegetables may be watered with a hand-held hose or low-volume non-spray irrigation on any day except Monday and not between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. New plantings may be “watered in” on a single day but not Monday.
Frankly, I believe the Water District more than the paper’s summary of it. So as long as I don’t hand-water the flowers on Monday (and as long as I do it after 6), I should be okay.
Again, hopefully the Water Police weren’t watching …
Well, you don’t have to worry about watering today – nice rain!
It just started up here in westy at about 12:30.
Wonderfulness!
