A very pleasant evening. A trip to the library, followed by a Mother’s Day dinner at Papadeaux. Too much food and wine, but no regrets …
One reason for the library trip, from my perspective, was to stock up on books-on-tape. I’ve decided that’s a much more pleasant commute passtime than feeling my blood pressure rising every time I turn on the radio. I’ve been going through some BoT that we picked up when in the UK in ’98, but thought I’d enjoy a couple of new ones.
The weather has been positively insane the last two weeks. Seventies, then snow over the weekend, then eighties, then rain all day yesterday, snow last night, freeze warnings tonight …
Spring in Colorado …
Hmmm…
The appetizers look much better then the meals.
Lets see….
one order of Frog Legs
one order of Boudin
so how many is an order in the order of Whole boiled crawfish? A table full or less?
And to finish it off…fresh gulf oysters (oops…May…out of season).
Well ok…Maybe a Gumbo or an Etouffee.
We made the mistake of ordering onion rings for appetizers. The serving was sizeable for four people, really, and probably good for six. The batter was marvelously spicy (and I ate far, far too many of them).
For dinner, catfish fillet, blackened, with dirty rice.
I’m still full.
I thought you hated fish?
Well, you blacken anything enough … 🙂
I don’t like the taste of fish. If it tastes like seafood, I don’t like it. Use it as a vector for tasty spices and other flavors, I can tolerate it. I’d rather have a steak, though.
