In deconstructing the windowbox frame for the new siding, the siding folk evidently found a hidden key from the previous tenants (since we didn’t put it there, and it fits the side door, formerly the front door). Cool.
They finished up today, and cleaned up after themselves, and were gone. Next Thursday (while we’re away, alas), the touch-up guy will be here to paint the nailheads.
Now that it’s all up, we’re reconsidering the paint we want. Current plan:
- Soffit & fascia: Dark, coppery brown.
- Door & garage frame: White (as it is now; needs wood putty work).
- Garage door: Dark, coppery brown.*
- Window framing (and broader framing on door and garage): Leave as wood.
- Down-gutters: There’s an interesting question …*
I maintain that we need to get a paint that matches the current wood and paint the (new) garage door and the raingutter down-pipes that color. Margie’s neutral on the latter, and in favor of the darker door.
At any rate, more cogitation is needed. And I need to upload more pictures …
