David Sutherland III (not the Dave Sutherland I gamed with) was one of the key artists in the early years of D&D, doing many of the illustrations on the first AD&D books (the ones I cut my teeth on).
Alas, he’s in failing (as in “terminal”), so he’s selling off an amazing treasure trove of art and first-edition materials on eBay to pay for his care and bolster his estate for his family. Check it out.
