I grew tired of playing the “ducks are evil” game of criticism during my English Lit. studies: If you believe that ducks are evil, you’ll find duck symbolism everwhere you want to find it.
My only question is what does baseball The Game have to do with English Lit. – She should have been a Psych major.
Ah, but as the article explains, it’s all about “text” — which is, ultimately, extensible to all fields of endeavor, but which, by its name, makes it Lit thing.
Or, alternately, “What are you trying to do, suppress honest discourse as to the patriarchal domination inherent in the system? Gender traitor!”
