The studio is aiming for a 2006 release, but it’s still too early to say whether any original cast members would appear in the film, or whether the story would be played seriously or more for laughs.
I think the laughs — at, not with — will be inevitable, whether played straight or not.

They’d be better off with new hotties, more skin, more sex and lots of beautifully photographed great California beach backgrounds. It was the most popular show in the world and would probably make a mint overseas.
You are probably quite correct. And I’ve little doubt that it will include all of those elements. 🙂
But … will David Hasselhoff sing for it?
That would cut the gross by, what? 50 mil?
In the States, at least. I understand he’s quite popular in Germany.
