Okay, home sick today (rrg), watching the Star Trek Season 1 DVD set I got from my folks (thanks, guys!).

Strip out the “love-sick adolescence” bit, and Katherine behaves a lot like Charlie X. Or the other way around.

Makes me glad she wasn’t raised by ultra-powerful aliens who could teach her how to make things Go Away.

And an amazing, unexpected, happy ending.

Three weeks ago, our 17yo, pudgy, arthritic Siberian slipped past me thru an open door, undetected. Her absence wasn't noticed until the next morning and there was no sign of her.

We had, frankly, lost hope.

This afternoon, a neighbor some houses away connected the dots between a poster I had put up and the cat that was hanging out in their window well, and contacted me.

And it was our cat, and she's now home (and getting much pampering).

Whew!

Y'know, as a convicted criminal, I'm not sure I'd be encouraging the police to rough up, assault, or kill suspects, even for just one day.
