Ruth Warrick has passed away. I was never the All My Children fan to the extent of, say, my mom, but I watched plenty of it back in the day (and it was regular viewing fodder in the TV lounge at lunch in college — when we weren’t watching Twilight Zone, that is. Phoebe Tyler’s patrician bitchiness was always a pleasure to watch, and Ruth Warrick’s turns on the screen were always a lot of fun.

Oh, and she was in Citizen Kane, too.

  1. I’m sorry to say that I’d never heard of her. Of course, the only soap opera I’ve ever seen even a single episode of is Dark Shadows.

I must say, I’m surprised you were moved to write about her passing, but not that of jerry Orbach or Artie Shaw.

  2. Artie Shaw doesn’t have that many personal associations for me. Jerry Orbach’s passing was talked about in so many places, there didn’t seem to be a lot for me to add.
