So, now that we have this Comcast DVR, what sorts of rare and wonderful gems do we have on there, you ask?

Well, the same mundane fare we watched before, only time-shifted so that we can watch it at a convenient hour. Though it doesn’t seem to be getting us to bed any earlier. The list includes …

For Kitten:

  • Kim Possible
  • Dora the Explorer
  • Backyardigans
  • Tweenies
  • Animaniacs

For Margie:

  • Iron Chef
  • Iron Chef America
  • Poirot
  • Miss Marple
  • Antiques Roadshow

For Dave:

  • Teen Titans
  • Justice League Unlimited
  • Kolchak: The Night Stalker
  • A couple of Battlestar Galactica eps (old and new)
  • Twilight Zone
  • Law & Order
  • Airline
  • The Daily Show
  • Invader ZIM
  • The Batman

The division between people who watch what above is a bit arbitrary, as you might imagine.

Of course, that’s a lot more than we can watch, which we already knew. Newly recorded eps push older eps of the same show off the edge. And some things will end up being deleted before they can be watched. But that’s okay.

Well, it had better be okay.

  1. You like Teen Titans and The Batman? I can’t stand either of those. JLU is mediocre.

I tried to watch the first episode of the new Galactica. I suffered through over 10 minutes before deleting it. I wish I’d gotten the director’s name; I’d like to make sure I don’t accidentally watch anything else of his.

I didn’t know they were showing Kolchak! Ooh! A marathon Thursday–gotta record those. (Now, if they’d only show the original Outer Limits!)

I finally caught up on the L&) and SVU reruns, so I only have to watch new eps of the three (soon to be four) series. After Jerry Orbach died, i found myself watching the first half of reruns of his episodes. >sniff

Mostly what’s sitting on my drive, though, are old movies from TCM. Managed to watch three, a Bogart, a Cagney, and Fahrenheit 451 (can you believe I’d never seen it?), on my day off this week.

  2. My TiVo

***Dave asks, "What’s on your TiVo?" Nicholas: Oswald His season pass changes according to his interests. Sometimes, we have a variety of children's selections including Miffy, Oobi, PB&J, the Wiggles, Boohbah, Maisy, etc. R…

  3. I’ve actually grown quite fond of TT. And Katherine likes it, too. Silly anime bits interspersed with some decent action/adventure.

Haven’t watched a The Batman yet.

JLU is indeed mediocre (even the good episodes, like this week’s, are too truncated in the half-hour format), but still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. And hearing Gina Torres as Vixen is worth a bit of mediocrity.

  4. Well, I’ve watched four of the Kolchak episodes from yesterday, and now I’ve gotta get the DVD set. That show holds up much better than most 70s series! (Except for… all.. that.. polyester!!!) I wonder why the pilot movies are only available separately. Ah, well, no matter. Best Buy has the 2-movie pack listed at $7.99! And the 20-episode 3-DVD set can be had for only $24 plus shipping! Wotta deal!
