One of the, um, features of having a relatively common name is that, in a company of some 30,000-odd employees, it’s likely at any given time there will be others with the same moniker. Hilarity occasionally ensues when e-mail for one goes to another.
Mercifully, I’ve been with the company long enough that I get to be the of my name; others have to use a middle initial, or a location suffix in the mail listing, or be “David” instead of “Dave” — all of which still occasionally confuses the unwary sender.
