Thunder woke me up at 4:30. I went to the computer to restart the audio book I was listening to (helps me sleep), and saw that it had rebooted. Oh, no! Power surge! And audio was gone… Had my new sound card been fried? Nope… just required another reboot! Still, decided to shut it off until the storm had passed.
A good idea. Hopefully you have a good surge suppressor (or one under three years old or so) hooked into it.
I have one of those expense surge suppressors with a battery backup, but it doesn’t seem to work with the powere strip. A split-second power failure still shuts me computer down. Maybe I have it hooked up wrong.
Certainly sounds like something is wrong with it.
