As noted below …

<$MTBlogEntryCount$> says that, at the moment (prior to this post) I have 8,493 posts here at DDtB.

But when I go to my MT control panel, it says I have 8,503 posts.

No idea what the discrepancy is. I’ve a query in to the MT boards.

  1. Do you have any posts in your database that are in Draft stage as opposed to Published stage that you may have forgotten about? If so that would explain the difference. Whats reported on your blog is the Published items, but whats reported in the control panel is the total count including Draft items.

It scares me that I’ve not used MT in over a year or so now and I still remember so much about it. 🙂

  2. Well, whaddayknow? Click on an easy button in the new MT 3.2 control panel to see unpublished entries and …

    … yup, ten of ’em.

I can even, now that I think of it, remember these. Posts from pre-SharpMT days that I didn’t get finished and didn’t want to lose. Posts I decided to sleep on. Posts I lost interest in. Posts I decided were too screed-like, but didn’t have the heart to delete.

    Interesting.

I’ll review ’em, decide whether to put them in the historic record or not, and get my numbers back in sync.

    Pretty funny. Thanks, Les.
