Life imitates art

I seem to recall a marvelous character in Garth Ennis’ Preacher comic whose hobby was using dynamite to excavate a massive obscene message to be read from an orbiting space shuttle.

Of course, today that’s old hat, since Google Maps has a much higher resolution to pick up such messages as demonstrated here.
