An e-mail exchange I had today, after having seen a proposed splash screen that users will encounter if they try to load a major application that’s being upgraded ths weekend, and noticing that it starts off by saying “ETS is temporary offline for weekend maintenance.“
ME: Um, can we spell “temporarily” correctly, please?
BOB: You just took me to 15 years ago when we were in Lake Ave and you were teaching MS Word to all of us. Good old Times 🙂
ME: You mean I was pedantic then, too? 🙂
BOB: I just learned another word from you “pedantic’. That is what I meant….
Yup. Definitely going to at least try and construe it as a compliment.

Is it ironic or merely coincidental that you misspelled “compliment” in this post? (And that there’s a typo in “splash”?)
Let’s just say it was unintentionally ironic (and a sign of being rushed). 😛
