One week post-move …
- I am the official coffee-maker for the floor. I get in first, I set up coffee filters for the four carages (which I empty out and change the date tags on), I make at least three of the pots, and usually the one refill of my own preferred flavor. It sounds like a lot of work, but it gets done and I usually have coffee available. The fact that the floor is at about 30% occupancy helps a lot.
- So far the office has remained clean and orderly. Miracles do, in fact, happen.
- It’s been, as expected, nice being closer to other IT folks again, and I’ve had some positive, productive conversations about various things going on.
- Because of the windows, I can usually run during the day with my overhead lights off. Nice. Not so much first thing in the morning, but even then I can generally get away with just the light out in the conference area.
Overall: quite satisfied.
