It was impressive, even from the center of the restaurant.
Went on for a good 10-15 minutes. Rain all up and down the picture windows, blown in horizontally. Lightning and thunder. The works.
It had mostly died down (of a mercy) by the time we headed out, though we still got pretty wet running to the car, and the parking lot was semi-lakey. Driving home, we noted that all those annoying retention ponds that developments have to build? Full. To the brim. Lots of standing water puddles in the streets and water pouring out of back yards and the like.
According to the weather reports, we got about an inch in the course of 20 minutes or so. I can believe it.
