The bad news? Brian Vaughan is leaving Runaways, a hip indie-style comic book about teenagers who discover their parents are really evil super-villains, out to destroy the world, and what they do about it. Vaughan’s a great writer, and it’s been a spiffy title (even if the second volume has been a scosh weaker than the first), full of authentic-feeling teen angst, sex, anger, alienation, and action.

The good news? Joss Whedon is going to take over, at least for six issues. By only worry is, what the hell does he know about writing authentic-feeling teen angst, sex, anger, alienation, and action?

  1. Another Brian Vaughn title worth checking out is The Escapists, a limited series that follows-up the Michael Chabon novel, The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (which is an excellent read in its own right).
