Because we were running behind on the Guest Room Project, I elected to take a vacation day and stay home today and Work! Work! Work! My boss was okay with it, given that I promised him a fun safety moment for our conference call Tuesday.
We’re still behind, but we made great progress, getting the bookshelves on the east wall pretty much finished (if not shelved), and the center cabinet and half the desk/counter installed. Oh, and the carpet pulled for the remaining built-ins.
My biggest concerns right now are (a) will we be able to move back in from the loft into the guest room/office when all is said and done tomorrow (when the Ks leave), (b) what will remain to be done and where will we store the supplies for doing it, and (c) will we be able to park the cars inside before snow arrives on Wednesday. 🙂
At any rate, the five of us then went off to The Melting Pot with Jackie (to celebrate Kitten’s 6-and-a-halfth birthday) and had a great time.
Back to the grindstone tomorrow …
Well…
You don’t NEED the landing/loft for the near future, so you should be fine until next weekend.
Why what do you have going on in the Garage?
The garage is the general work area and carpentry shop for the project. So it is filled with tables, saw horses, equipment, and many stacks of lumber and melamine-coated boards.
After past projects, I determined that it was critical that the garage be gotten back into parkable order. Especially with winter coming, as going outside first thing in the morning to brush or chip off the car is *not* the way to start the day.
And it’s not a “until next weekend” thing. With us, it’s a “will we still be dealing with the mess when our Twelfth Night Party comes around?” 🙂
