Still continuing to monitor the anticipated weather this weekend, esp. Friday (our Twelfth Night soiree).
The good news is that (according to the radio this morining) the expected snow for Friday is down to about an inch.
The bad news is, it’s going to be bite-ass cold (highs Friday around 12F, lows around -4F, similar for Saturday-Monday). Worse, what we’re looking to get in addition to the snow is “ice pellets” and “freezing drizzle.” Which really has me worried, in terms of just driving safety for partygoers.
*sigh*
And out front, I’ve salted (mag-chor) the snow berms in front of the house — though that only frees up a limited amount of parking. Though if we go ahead, I have no idea how many/few folks we’ll actually have in attendance (given the weather).
Continuing to monitor …
Tonight: A chance of drizzle before 8pm, then areas of snow and freezing drizzle between 8pm and 1am, then a chance of snow after 1am. Patchy fog before 8pm. Areas of freezing fog after 8pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 8. Wind chill values between -1 and 4. Northwest wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Friday: Snow likely and possibly mixed with freezing drizzle. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy and cold, with a temperature falling to around 7 by 5pm. Wind chill values between -4 and 2. East northeast wind between 3 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Friday Night: A chance of snow and freezing drizzle. Cloudy, with a low around 0. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
We got about 2-2.5 inches here, which is highly unusual. Again, you’d think the world was ending based on the weather and traffic reports. It is amusing to watch the little weather guys going “look at how much snow we have!” Hopefully, since this snow is moving NE, which is also unusual it will not hit Colorado.
Well we will have plenty of food for those that want to get snowed-in with us. And with a little help from the folks an additional bed too.
Well, as long as it’s not truly nasty out, we’ll be up. 🙂
Although we might need a bed…
So how many people can you accomodate sleeping over?
btw…
It is frelling COLD out there!
