Had a pleasant Post-Twelfth Night Gaming and Not-Really-Leftover Munching and Holiday Gift Exchange. Randy made it over first (well, Jackie, to drop off Kaylee while she did some Moving Stuff), then Stan, Doyce, and then Jackie (again).
Plenty of nibbles, of course, and Margie mixed up some glög, and many fine holiday (and a few birthday) gifts were exchanged, and there was even, late in the evening a bit of game-playing (Randy, Stan, Jackie, Margie and me playing one of said gifts, “Loaded Questions,” another variation, though a good one, on the “guess things about other people” style of party game).
The weather was overcast all day and bite-ass cold, but the snow basically let up by mid-day. Jackie (with KK) and Randy both stayed over, but I was up and out of the house way before either of them (and the drive into work was surprisingly not bad).
We’ve got temps in the teens, slowly warming during the week. Looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, upstairs, the guest room/office is nearly ready for occupancy — Jim and I finished up the crown moldling and the trim around the murphy bed. Jim gets extra kudos, as he continued to work while I played party host. We just need to get bookshelves to load into and we’ll be set.
All in all, and after all the angst, a good ending to a decent weekend.
UPDATE: BD describes the event (and the unusual lack of plowing on Sunday).
Yeppers, it was a fun night.
I hope that we didn’t keep folks awake with out laughing.
I think the Ks are used to raucous laughter from downstairs. Heck, so’s Katherine. 🙂
Glad you made it down (and back).
