My mom asks:
Will the earth stop rotating if we just let our computer change its clock on the “normal” date?
And, of course, it won’t. Your computer may burst into flames and burn down the house, but the Earth’s rotation isn’t contingent on Microsoft OS patching. Yet.
But if you want simple info on finding out whether your Microsoft patch for DST has already installed (or how to get it to do so painlessly), I offer one and all: The Lazy Person’s Guide to Adjusting Your PC for Daylight Saving.
Not that I’m calling you lazy, Mom! But it’s better than pointing to an article on The Idiot’s Guide to … 🙂

For those of you who are using Win 98 or ME for some reason, there’s also an unofficial patch at: http://www.intelliadmin.com/Daylight%20Saving%20Fix%20Download.asp
