Friday:  I had many great plans for Friday afternoon, which then dissolved in a miasma of conference calls and mail archiving.  Bleah.

Saturday:  Margie and I hit the honey-do list, then headed over to Doyce’s for (with Randy) our inaugural Primetime Adventures game, which worked out to be a WWII combat fantasy setting we titled “Strange Allies.”  Just freaking loads of satisfying fun, even if we ran until midnight.

Sunday:   Did a bit of this and a bit of that, then went with Jackie to an early supper at the Melting Pot, to celebrate her first week at the new job.  We got to downtown Littleton late, as we’d hoped for a couple of hours of window shopping etc. amongst the many quaint shoppes in the area — only to discover that they were nearly all closed on Sunday.  Huh.  “Historic Downtown Littleton is the Place to Be” — except on Sundays, when that place moves somewhere else.  As it was, we managed to find shopping entertainment for an hour, but that was pushing it.  The dinner was fun and filling, as always.

  1. Wait… You couldn’t window shop because the stores were closed?

“window shopping: to look at the displays in retail store windows without going inside the stores to make purchases”

I guess it’s the “etc.” that caused the consternation.

  2. Rrg. Y’know, I knew I was using the phrase sloppily when I wrote it, hence the “etc.” — “window shopping” in this case meaning “wandering from store to store, possibly buying something but mostly just looking at the cool swag (which is hard to do through the windows when they’re covered with fliers for various local events).”

  3. The game log was posted on this board (and I’m very pleased with it, even if Doyce had to apply some needed polish for bits I forgot or left in too rough a state).

    My two favorite comments:

Holy crap that is like Five Deadly Venoms of awesome.

and (from the creator of the game)

    That’s a kickass series.
